Wild Pointe Ranch
Energy Environmental Corporation has partnered with C&A companies and five green builders for the construction of a 110 sustainable home development in Elizabeth, Colorado. These new homes at Wild Pointe Ranch (WPR) will be USGBC LEED for Homes Platinum certified and include the latest energy efficiency, indoor air quality, reduced water usage, and sustainable technology, products, and best practices. This will be the largest development in North America to achieve this level of efficiency and performance and will use net zero energy for heating, cooling, and hot water systems.
Modeled on the integrated systems in EEC's platinum LEED home, these very low energy homes will require net zero energy from the grid for heating, cooling, and production of domestic hot water. Our modeling predicts that these homes will consume 50-70% less energy than standard construction practices. To ensure homes are performing to the predicted energy efficiency standards, the homes’ energy consumption will be monitored real time and the data available via the web. This will be achieved using a commercially available integrated hardware and software package that connects all of a structure’s heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) as well as radiant components to a single system for better energy efficiency, control and monitoring.
The parties involved have released a request for information in order to develop marketing partners and select unique building materials and products which contribute to the sustainability of the homes. More information can be found at www.LEEDRFI.com.
